We started NextShift because we lived the problem. Spreadsheets for rosters, Venmo for payments, group texts for schedule changes. We knew there had to be a better way — so we built one.
The problem we saw
Youth hockey directors are doing incredible work — building teams, developing players, creating community. But behind the scenes, they're drowning in admin. Google Forms for registration. Venmo for payments. Gmail for communication. Spreadsheets for everything else.
These tools weren't built for sports teams. They don't talk to each other. Things fall through the cracks. And the director — who should be focused on the team — spends half their time chasing payments and updating spreadsheets.
What we built
NextShift is a platform purpose-built for hockey teams. Registration, payments, scheduling, CRM, communication — all in one place. But we don't just hand you a tool and wish you luck. We build your custom-branded website, configure your dashboard, and handle the entire setup. You tell us about your team, and we make it work.

NextShift is built by Your Website Friend (YWF)— a development studio that specializes in building technology for hockey organizations. We're not a giant software company. We're a small, focused team that moves fast and cares about getting things right.

Why hockey?
We started with hockey because it's what we know. Travel teams, development programs, learn-to-skate, tryouts, tournaments — we understand how these organizations actually work, and we built NextShift to handle all of it. Down the road, we'll expand to other sports. But right now, we're focused on making the best platform in hockey.
